Supposedly after betraying the high king by opening the gate for Ulfric, her husband, Roggvir, being stripped of his high rank and forced to wear rags was beheaded by a big ugly man with a very large axe.
Alice, being use to high society and living in Proudspire Manor in Solitude has suddenly become a homeless widow.
"It wasn't his fault. He was bribed. He thought he was doing the right thing and I supported him. Now he has fallen to something they call justice."
"Justice?! Where is the justice for me? I'm left with a meager savings and cannot afford to live in Proudspire Manor any longer. My life is no more, and no thanks to the Thalmor for what they did. I hate them.....I just want my life back!"
Alice looked one last time at the home she knew so well, closed the door and walked away. There was nothing left but sorrow.
Suddenly a pauper, shunned by her friends, Alice has become an unwanted peasant and escorted out of Solitude by the guards.
Anger bites at her every step. Nothing.....there was nothing. Her heart bled as the gates were opened and she was escorted out in shame only to hear the creaking of the gates closing again.
"What am I going to do? My skills....yes, my skills. I can remember now...my daddy told me....'If you ever find yourself in danger, remember, defend yourself with all your might.'...."
"Yes, of course. Yes. And that place my husband showed me. Ah, I know what to do."
Taking a deep breath after a moment of thought, she looked up at the sky and then down at her feet, and her eyes lifted up towards the open road. Reality was something she never thought existed outside of Solitude. It was all a fantasy land to her.
Now it was real....too real....almost like a nightmare. The sound of wolves howling was almost enough to send Alice into a frightened mind spin. But she held fast. She knew survival was her only key.
Remembering what her father had taught her and carrying a sharp sword, she held up her hand, looked at her fingernails and said to herself, "Darn it, I chipped a nail. Where did I put that nail file?"
Alice walked on....and on....following the yellow brick road. Well, not really yellow, more like dirt.
Darkness befell the land and she promptly lit a torch. "No, this can't be....where am I?"
"Ah, here it is, the secret...."
Wait, what? What secret? Oh, come on, you can't leave our readers hanging on like this!
