I am reposting for those who cannot or do not want to go to nexus.   Update 3: The Crown of Sand / Eva Memory crash should now be fixed in version 2.0a! Huge thanks to  invalidacy  &  ReActif  for determining the cause of the crash! It turned out we'd set a single cvar too high for the engine, and as this cvar was only used in a very small number of scenes (eg. the Eva memory) the problem wasn't immediately apparent, thankfully they managed to narrow it down to the "r.VolumetricFog.HistoryMissSupersampleCount" cvar, and by reducing that the game now works fine! Both the main file & the performance-config have been updated to reduce this value (as version 2.0a). Update 2: added some new config cvars which should improve performance dramatically, at the cost of some extra load time - this extra load time only counts when load
