Chaos Armor

A story of love and power. About Two opposing forces and how the Chaos Armor came to be.

As we know, there have always been Dragons since the dawn of time. There were also other beings present and today, we know them only as The Unseen Masters. Many Theologists have studied these beings and often have ended up in the Soul Cairn as a result. One such scholar though, with a little help from the Dragonborn, was able to uncover a long lost truth.

The Unseen Masters were the first Gods. Before the Divines and the Daedra, these Gods existed as Sentient beings watching over all of Tamriel. These were the Gods of Order and Chaos. Their job was to keep the balance between these Two forces and ensure all of creation survived within the flow.

What does Order and Chaos have to do with creation? One might very well ask. Well dear reader, think of forging a blade. The chaos of the fire heats the blade. The chaos of the hammer striking the steel tempers the blade. But, without order, the blade is unfinished. Cooling the steel in the water allows the steel to take its shape which is an act of order restoring things to how they should be.

One cannot survive without the other and this brings us to our tale. A God and a Goddess fell in love. 'Oh gawds, yeah yeah, here we go, you might be thinking right now. But, before you skip ahead, just hear me out. He was a Chaos God and She was a Goddess of Order. Their love was forbidden by rules older than even they were. So they tried to hide their love but, as always happens, the other deities soon found out and, according to the old rules, the lovers were banished to live as mortal beings. They couldn't be killed being Gods as energies cannot be destroyed.

So the lovers, banished to mortal living, set about making a normal life. In time, they had a child, a daughter they named Seraphina. This act angered the deities and the couple knew that it wouldn't be long before the Gods reigned down their vengeance. It was only the rule that Gods could not interfere directly with mortals that saved them an immediate death.

Seraphina grew to her 21st year and it was at this time, the couple decided something needed to be done to protect their daughter. So it was the great Skyforge was built and an armour was made. It was made to be light yet strong enough to repel any blade wielded towards it. That would never be enough though so the couple, after long discussion, came to an agreement and imbued their very souls into the Armor so their energies could too protect their daughter.

Seraphina at this point was heartbroken having lost her parents but she knew they sacrficed themselves for her protection.

After casting their mortal bodies to the flames of the Skyforge, Seraphina bid her parents goodbye and set off to travel Tamriel. She faced many dangers as the Gods set many obstacles in her way. true they could not interfere directly but they could change things in the world around her. Seraphina faced many wild beasts, bandits and Dragons in her travels as the Gods grew ever more daring trying to end her life. Her Amor though was so strong and powerful that not even a Dragon's shout could penetrate it.

A cruel plan was hatched and a single God, posing as a mortal, was sent to seduce Seraphina and get her to remove her Armor. With Silver tongue, the God soon had Seraphina out of her Armor and vulnerable. It was then a Dragon attacked and with fiery breath, burned Seraphina where she stood. The Gods had won. Or so they thought.

When Seraphina died, it sent a ripple through the Universe. The Gods had broken a scared law, a law far worse than falling in love. They had not only directly interfered directly with a mortal but also had killed one of their own. Though Seraphina was mortal, she still carried the powers of Order and Chaos within her being.

The Gods were sentenced to live in the plains of Oblivion, The Soul Cairn and deliver the souls of the unfortunate to the Universe itself which would be used to continue the ever flowing energies.

From this, the Daedra and Divines were born. Beings of Chaos and Order unbound from the rules of their predecessors. Why unbound from the rules? As mortals grew and became more aware of the world and the powers around them, they became drunk with greed and power. Sometimes a deity has to step in and put an end to the nonsense. However, as we all know, even deities can cause trouble if they so see fit to...

The Armor itself couldn't be destroyed, nor could it be hidden. Someone would always find what isn't supposed to be found. It was agreed by the deities that it would remain in the mortal world to be used by a daring female adventurer. As such, it was placed in a chest on the bank of the river in Riverwood. May it serve whoever wears it well.

The souls imbued in the Armor were released and went to join the great flow of energies where they would stay united for all eternity. This meant the Armor lost some of its power like resistance to Dragon shouts but the wearer would just have to wear it and test it for themselves.
