Shadow Rose was away playing music at the Riverwood Sleeping Giant Inn for a birthday party celebration and the next morning she headed back for home.
When she returned to Helgen, it was destroyed and she couldn't believe her eyes. The air was filled with a stench she never smelled before.
Shadow stood there in disbelief. "My home, it's gone. What happened?"
Everything she had worked for and her livelihood lay before her feet in a heap of rubble. Fires burned everywhere and there was no one alive. Charred bodies lay on the ground.
Looking around, she saw her best friend who was a guard that loved to hear Shadow play and sing her wonderful music. Kneeling down, she touched the sword that lay next to her body. She stood back up, looking wayward at the sky, took a deep breath and said, "This for you, Lilla."
Sadly, Shadow pulled out her lute and began to sing her favorite song. It was passionate and endearing. She played on as Helgen continued to burn until she finally broke down in tears.
In a fit of anger, she threw her lute into the fire and watched it burn. It was no more. Every emotion she could feel surged through her body.......until she felt nothing.
Shadow Rose is angry, lonely, without a friend or a home. She thinks the gods were angry and did this as punishment.
Will you be her friend? She would like that.
